The Mitsio Archipelago is a volcanic island group located about 60 km north-east of Nosy Be. It is centred around Grande Mitsio, the main island, often called Nosy Mitsio, and several smaller iconic islands such as Nosy Ankaréa, Nosy Lava and Nosy Tsarabanjina. With its basalt formations, wild beaches, turquoise waters, coral reefs and tropical vegetation, the archipelago offers some of the most spectacular and unspoilt island scenery in Madagascar.
What is the best season to visit ?
The best time for a stay in Nosy Mitsio is from March to June, then from September to December, during the dry season, when the weather is often ideal. In January and February, conditions can be idyllic, but this period remains more unpredictable due to rain and the risk of cyclones.
