ccommodation in Nosy Mitsio is an integral part of the experience. There are no large hotels or tourist resorts here : you stay in traditional bungalows set directly on one of Grande Mitsio’s most beautiful beaches, facing the turquoise waters of the lagoon.
Pale sand, coconut palms, calm seas and an open horizon create an almost unreal setting. All you have to do is step out of your bungalow to feel the sand beneath your feet and enjoy the beach. Just a few metres away, the lagoon invites you to swim and provides an idyllic setting in which to start the day.

Built in a traditional Malagasy style, the bungalows blend naturally into the landscape. Their beachfront location means you can enjoy panoramic views of the beach and lagoon throughout your stay.
The atmosphere is deliberately simple and authentic, while all the essential comforts are there. Each bungalow has excellent bedding, as well as a private shower and toilet.
Here, true luxury does not lie in an abundance of facilities, but in the setting itself: a paradise beach just a few steps from your bed, peace, space and the feeling of having a little corner of Nosy Mitsio almost to yourself.
Simple and comfortable accommodation on a remote island
Grande Mitsio remains an island with very limited infrastructure. There is no running water supply in the bungalows. Water is therefore stored in tanks, which we make sure are kept sufficiently full throughout your stay.
Lighting is provided by a small solar panel. We also provide our guests with a head torch, a camping lamp, a power bank and a mini fan.
These are simply part of life on an island that is still largely removed from mass tourism. They do not prevent you from enjoying a comfortable stay and even add to the charm of an experience that is very different from staying in the hotels of Nosy Be.
Sleeping on an idyllic beach in Nosy Mitsio
As the day goes by, the beach takes on different moods. In the morning, the first light is reflected across the lagoon. During the day, the turquoise waters provide the perfect backdrop for swimming and relaxing. Then, in the late afternoon, the sunsets set the horizon ablaze and create some of the most beautiful moments of the day.
As evening falls, the atmosphere changes again. Far from the bustle of major tourist resorts, you can simply enjoy the sound of the sea, the tropical air and the peace that surrounds the beach.
Sleeping in Nosy Mitsio means falling asleep just a few metres from the lagoon and waking up right on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches.
